Critiques given to Louie at Border Collie Nationals (Aust),
Speciality Shows & Royals
Southern District Country Border Collie Club of NSW
SDCBCC of NSW holds 2 Championship Shows over 2 days, September 2019. Louie wins 2 Best Puppy In Shows.
Critique from the SDCBCC of NSW Sunday Specialty 2019,
Judge Mrs K Sneath (Victoria)
“Impressive young dog who stood alone in this class, of excellent breed type and correct proportions. Typical balanced head with parallel planes and pronounced stop. His ears are well set on a broad, flat skull with pleasing expression. He has balanced angulation which he used to the full on the move, maintaining his strong topline. Typical carriage with lowered head and an easy, tireless gait. The picture was completed with a correctly set and carried tail finished with an upwards swirl. I would prefer his bone and feet were more oval. A pleasure to award him BEST PUPPY IN SHOW and I note that he is a litter brother to my MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW winner also. Certainly one to watch.”
5th Border Collie National 2019 held in New South Wales
Critique from the
5th Border Collie National 2019
Judge Mrs Heidi Poschacher
(Borderline Country BCs)
“Eight month old, strong boned, very good frame, top quality, ear carriage could be a bit higher and upper head a bit flatter, underjaw a bit stronger, perfect outline and angles, front could be a bit more sound, wonderful presentation on the move, very promising.”
Louie was 2nd in Minor Puppy Dog!
Sydney Royal Easter Show 2022
Louie wins Best of Breed at Sydney Royal and then goes onto being awarded BEST IN GROUP 2 (Working Dogs) from approximately 340 dogs
Critique from the 2022 Sydney Royal Easter Show
Judge Mrs L Diamante (New Zealand)
“Black and white dog with classic head and expression, dark eyes, good ear set. Well boned and well angulated front and rear. Level topline on the stack and on the move. Short hock, correct tail set. Dropped into himself on the go around and moved with a smooth free gait. A pleasure to award him BOB from such a strong line-up… My winner displayed the more correct angulation, tail carriage and head type.”
Melbourne Royal Show 2023
Louie was Best of Breed from a breed entry of 57 and was shortlisted to Top 8 in the Working Dog Group (approx entry of 560).
Critique from the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show Judge Mr G Tesics (Hungary)
“Strong, powerful, good bone, good head. Strong muzzle, good shaped eyes. Strong back, deep chest. Low set hocks. Typical double coat. Typical representative of the breed. Friendly.”
Border Collie Club of NSW October 2023
Louie was awarded Reserve Dog Challenge & RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW!
Critique from the BCCNSW October 2023
Judge Mr A Price (Victoria)
“Excellent breed type, strong throughout. Very good head type with flat skull, prefer a little more depth of stop, correct broad muzzle, neck lays well into shoulder, prefer a little more turn of upper arm, bone is correct, oval feet, carries his topline well, well angled through the rear, tail well set and carried well.”
Border Collie Club of NSW March 2024
Louie was BEST IN SHOW at a Speciality!
Critique from the BCCNSW March 2024
Judge Lisa Berrill (Victoria)
“An elegant, but masculine dog that caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Well balanced head with a broad flat backskull. Good cheek with a tapering muzzle of good strength. Dark oval eye and well set ears that were used when asked. Excellent length of neck flowing into a level topline and a back of correct length, finished a good sweep over the croup. Well balanced fore and hindquarters with a good let down of hock. This dog had in my opinion had the correct length of leg and with his balanced angles allowed him to move across the ground effortlessly. Excellent amount of bone and a good quality coat, presented in excellent condition finished the picture for me. I was only too happy to award him DogCC and eventually Best in Show. Congratulations.”
6th Border Collie National 2024 held in Queensland
Louie was 1st Open Dog and Best Opposite Sex In Show at the National!
Critique from the 6th Border Collie National
Judge Ron Juckes (South Africa)
Very attractive dog, showing excellent breed type. Head of correct proportions and shape with an attentive expression, from lovely dark eyes. Ears well-set and used. Neck well-set onto beautifully angled shoulders. Forelegs true. Feet tight and oval. Overall well-proportioned with correct depth of chest, strong topline, well-muscled loin. Pleasing angle of croup to well-set tail, carried low with a beautiful swirl. Strong hindquarters. Moved true to type, with freedom and ease, minimum lift of feet.
